Understanding river conditions

  • The Environment Agency publishes warnings when non-tidal river conditions pose a potential threat
  • The current conditions can be viewed in the App (from the Journey Planner page)
  • To help plan your river journeys you can have real time updates sent to your mobile device(s)
  • Instructions for setting up real-time river condition updates are here
  • Yellow or red boards (like those illustrated) are displayed on locks when warnings are in place
  • YELLOW warning: users of unpowered boats are advised not to navigate; users of powered boats are advised to navigate with caution
  • RED warning: users of all boats are advised not to navigate because strong river flows make it both difficult and dangerous
  • App Screenshots

These screenshots illustrate some of the pages on smartphones and tablets.
